Companies, Seeing Profit Slip, Push Into Education
This news article focuses
on how media companies are moving towards the education sector
through digital distribution of their services and products. A few
major media companies include Discovery, Walt Disney and NBCUniversal
who are entering the realms of schools which was previously dominated
by publishing houses. Most teachers also agree that although they
are used to the traditional methods of teaching, technology helps
student motivation and makes learning more individualized to the pace
of every learner. Another important aspect is the lower cost per
child in acquiring materials to enhance their learning experience.
However, leading publishing houses are also aware of this shift and
have partnered up with apple's ibook which is their digital version
of doing what they do best, just electronically.
